Job Description

The Deputy Assistant Program Manager (DAPM) will be responsible for overseeing the overall cost, schedule and technical execution of contractual requirements related to the CH-53K Air Vehicle IPT.

This role will perform program management leadership activities to support the execution of key milestones and contractual deliverables.

This individual will act as the business interface between the customer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Sikorsky for all Air Vehicle IPT related activities. The individual will also provide oversight to and interface with Control Account Managers (CAMs), Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functions to assist in contract execution.

The DAPM is part of the Program Management Team and will report directly to the Air Vehicle Assistant Program Manager (APM).

Key Responsibilities

Planning, Cost and Schedule Management - Oversee key deliverables to the customer in accordance with cost, schedule, quality and technical performance requirements as identified by contract. Assist the Assistant Program Manager in approving all project requirements, work statements, budgets, schedules and risk management plans.

Risk and Financial Analysis - Develop and actively monitor cost, schedule, and risks & opportunities in support of contract execution. Work cross functionally with other IPT’s to ensure cost, schedule and technical risk are captured across the program.

Business Metrics - Develop, review and approve project metrics, primarily EVMS, to track project health/stability. Provide visibility to the customer and Executive leadership on said metrics.

Project Administration - Administer and implement program management instructions (PMI). In addition, coordinate project reviews, oversee activities initiated by the customer, and manage other efforts required to maintain project support.

Continuous Improvement/Best Practice Implementation - Ensure that all Sikorsky and Industry Program Management best practices, policies, and management tools are utilized in an effective and appropriate manner. Lead using continuous improvement and apply lean concepts, practices, and procedures in aerospace manufacturing/assembly.

Executive Presentations - Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences including Sikorsky and our customer, NAVAIR.

Progress Reporting - Report status on key projects on a regular basis to the Program Executives. Resolve internal management issues and escalate if needed.

Basic Qualifications BA/BS degree w/ 5+ years of relevant industry and/or functional experience with increasing levels of responsibility. MA/MS degree w/ 4+ years of relevant industry and/or functional experience with increasing levels of responsibility including experience in business management, finance, program engineering and/or program management.

Desired skills Energetic, organized, and results driven, the Deputy Program Manager will have strong leadership skills and have an understanding of Program Management duties and responsibilities. The ability to establish positive relationships with various customers, teammates, and subcontractors is desired. This individual will also have excellent written, presentation, and communication skills along with demonstrated success in utilizing Earned Value (EV) Management, developing and managing integrated master schedules, and performing critical path and financial analysis. Systems experience includes Primavera, SAP, Winsight, and Program Management Console.
